Since 2013, youth, students, and residents from Salinas have been participating in the annual Ciclovía Salinas. The 2025 youth-led event was a great success with over 6,000 participants and this year we hope to double our attendance! Ciclovía Salinas temporarily opens Alisal Street, extending from Front Street to Sanborn Road, for recreational activity. This temporary transformation of the streets will occur on Sunday, October 4, 2026 allowing residents to use the full streets to participate in a wide range of physical activities, such as running, walking, biking, and Zumba. It also provides free access to a family day filled with hands-on activities and resources for children and adults.
We believe that Salinas is entitled to a safe and inclusive environment that promotes health and unity. Our vision is to transform Alisal into a safe space where families can recreate, learn about health resources, interact and become inspired to promote a more vibrant community. We are establishing a platform of opportunity to adopt healthier habits in order to counteract major health issues. In addition, Ciclovía Salinas aims to benefit the economic development in Salinas through a sustainable event that promotes local businesses.
